Description: This guys was waiting on me as I prepared to step into the shower. I placed the quarter next to him to give an idea of his size. I have encounted many, many recluses in my house, but this is by far the biggest. Do they get much bigger than this????

Been raising Mantises since childhood.
I've got one hiding under the washing machine in my laundry room that's about the same size. I've tried to kill it twice, but it's a fast little devil and keeps darting under the washer before I can mash him!

Love being outside. Except when football is on TV, of course.
Chris, if it helps, I have found that sticky mouse pads are pretty effective on recluses. Put one down by the washer.
Unfortunately for my friend here, he didn't have anything to dart under so he met Mr. Toilet paper then Mr. Toilet. Of course, by the time he met Mr. Toilet he had already been mashed into brown jelly.

baby pixie, suriname giant toad, and r.i.p. Mr Frog(adult pixie)
seems like you have some kind of "arachniphobia" deal going on in your house! if i found 200 dead recluse's when i bug bombed my house, and find these around all the time id sell that house immediately... or at least be afraid to walk bare foot in my house.....

They don't bother us. We just make sure and stay alert. The thing about recluses is that you basically have to force them to bite. Their first goal to get away from humans...immediately. People get bit when they roll over on them in bed, or put on clothes or shoes without checking them first.
